Plan routes from point A to point B anywhere in the UK with a variety of routing modes catering to a diverse range of cyclists, from beginners to regular commuters and cycling enthusiasts. The Photomap feature allows users to submit photos highlighting infrastructure issues or best practices across the UK.

BIKE NAVIGATION PLANNING MADE EASY

• Select your starting point, destination, and any waypoints in between by tapping on the map, searching for names/places/postcodes, or utilizing your current location before generating the route. The app utilizes the general street network, Sustrans, and other cycling routes.

FOUR ROUTING MODES TO CHOOSE FROM

• The app offers route options suitable for most cyclists and can also generate faster or quieter routes tailored to different rider preferences. Routes are sourced from the CycleStreets website.

EFFORTLESSLY HANDLE HILLS

• The journey planner takes elevation into account, planning routes that capitalize on descents and minimize ascents where possible while considering road types. Users can view routes with contours using the OpenCycleMap feature.

DETAILED STAGE-BY-STAGE ITINERARY

• In addition to the main map view, planned routes are organized into an itinerary view for easy navigation through each segment of the journey. Key details such as street names, time estimations, and distances are provided, along with detailed maps for each stage of the trip. Saved routes can be accessed for future reference.

PHOTOMAP FOR CYCLING ADVOCACY

• The Photomap serves as a valuable cycling advocacy tool utilized by campaign groups nationwide. Users can explore examples of cycling-related challenges or best practices and contribute their own photos. Whether highlighting the need for additional cycle parking in town or showcasing successful initiatives, users can add photos by signing in with a free account.

LEVERAGE OPENSTREETMAP DATA

• The routing system leverages OpenStreetMap data, a collaborative 'geo-wiki' that allows user contributions. Note that geographical coverage may vary across regions. The system includes various street types and paths, encompassing Sustrans routes and Local Authority networks. Continuous improvement of routing quality is underway, incorporating new cycling trends and street data for enhanced route planning.
